Birds of Prey is a mess. Harley Quinn's character is poorly defined and doesn't make any sense. She goes from being a psychopathic murderer to the kind of person who assaults a police station with beanbags to save their lives, to then go quickly back to murdering prisoners, then back to having a stereotypical Heart of Gold and rescuing the child that was in danger. Along the way they managed to destroy anything you liked about the first one. Harley's costumes are terrible. The lighting is lazy. The plot makes no sense. The film is just wall to wall bad. I can't believe we made it till the end. It really shows some dedication that we stuck it in there and let the thing keep playing until it wound itself out on the floor.
Margot Robbie is a great actress, but she doesn't show it in this movie. Ewan McGregor actually tried hard. I'd say there is a bright spot of the film if that he tries to be the true psycho villain that they want even taking it into heavy character territory at some point, thinking he's more in, perhaps Henry a portrait of a serial killer than this garbage mainstream quasi comic book movie.
That's to say nothing about the obvious politically correct pro female agenda of the film, which, unfortunately, as with the new Star Wars movies fails to accomplish their goal. Even people that support their ideas and theories, would not come away from this film thinking that women are great heroes. They'd come away from it thinking that they are terrible writers, directors and producers who don't know how to make a movie. Don't watch birds of prey, avoid this movie at all costs.

Very high expectation for this movie to stand alone but it is really extension from Suicide Squad, and this is echoed in the script, characters, and setting. Imo if Leno's Joker made brief guest appearance, may have been much more successful in this flick than the criticised appearances in Suicide Squad. Its a fun movie to watch at home.

I was going into this film very scepticle and thinking already that I would be let down. that's is a horrible way to enter a movie (just saying. But I was refreshingly surprised! the tone of the film, the atmosphere, you can defently tell they are setting this up to create a New environment for Gotham. This was a good movie, very enjoyable and exciting. Target Market is definitely Adult viewers, obviously with the R rating but noticed people were confused about that. Way way way way better than Suicide Squad not even close.

After this movie I felt like a strong independent woman who can achieve everything, even though i am a man.
